The Struggles

From countless late nights fueled by a dream to make Chatspace Live truly special, Mark Hughes (NeO) and Catie poured their essence into its creation over the past 5-7 months, often looking more like highly caffeinated, sleep-deprived philosophers than developers as they valiantly tackled monumental obstacles, even pivoting development languages three times – a testament to both their unyielding determination and perhaps, a slightly masochistic appreciation for extreme coding challenges.. And yet they live to tell the tale.

How much does it cost?

Absolutely nothing. There are no subscription fees, no hidden costs, and no "premium" tiers. ChatSpace is a labor of love for the community. We believe in providing a world-class environment where the only currency that matters is the friendships you make.

Beyond Halsoft & Yak

While Halsoft VP and Yak Chat kept the spirit alive, we’ve taken technology further. To 60FPS fluid avatar movement to animated avatars, web cam and voice and unlimited file size sends, we've brought the 2D genre into 2026. Moss kept VP alive by creating his Clone VP server, credit is given where due and it's due. And he did it in Visual Basics 6, that's no small feat.

Allow users to host their own hubs securely, and complete themes intergration. Add voice & webcam features with P2P connections.

Phase 3: VR Integration And Other Features (Q3)

Experimental VR room support for hybrid 2D/3D interaction. Add MacOS support, add API for developers to make their own games for the platform.
